Anupamaa, the Rupali Ganguly-starrer show recently made headlines after actress Alisha Parveen was replaced overnight by the makers. The actress played Raahi, the daughter of Rupali’s character in the show. While the news about her exit came as a shock to the viewers, the actress shared that she did not quit herself but was removed by the makers without any explanation. Meanwhile, her sudden departure also left fans wondering if the lead actress Rupali was involved in the sudden change of events.
Alisha, in turn, had accused Rupali of misbehaving and feeling insecure about her growing stardom. However, in a recent conversation with ABP, the 47-year-old actress strongly denied all the allegations made by Alisha. She also revealed that the actress would often question producer Rajan Shahi and Star Plus about her influence on the decision-making process.
On this, Rupali clarified that she has been part of the show for several years and has never requested the makers to alter any scenes for her convenience. She emphasized that she has no control over the clothing choices of the characters in the series. Rupali also questioned how Alisha could claim to have any influence on determining who should or should not work on the show.
Recently, reacting to the rumours of Rupali’s involvement in her departure from the show, Alisha told India Forums, “I have also heard these rumours and am aware that they are tied to her. I’ve also read about this in fan messages. People stated, “Ke unhone hi karwaya hai,” with DKP (Director’s Kut Production) and Rupali mam behind it. “Exactly Kya hai ye main kaise batau ab (People said they did it, DKP is behind it, and Rupali mam is behind it). How can I say what the situation is? Maybe, maybe not; I’m not sure. Maybe nothing.”
Moreover, talking about her bond with Rupali on the sets of Anupamaa, the 26-year-old actress said, “I shared a very professional bond with everyone, not just her. I used to greet and talk to everyone. But I don’t get too involved with anyone, so I don’t know what might have happened behind my back. I don’t have interest in that also.”
Aisha was replaced by TV actress Adrija Roy.
